Emptoris, a company that specialises in reducing procurement and contracting expenses, formally purchased telecom expense management vendor Rivermine this week.

Founded in 2001, Rivermine specialises in software that helps companies get a better hold on what their telecom expenses are in a given month and helps them whittle down unnecessary costs to save money. From this perspective it’s a natural fit with Emptoris, which specialises in reducing the transaction costs involved in procurement and contracting. Emptoris said this week that Rivermine’s TEM experience would be offered in addition to its own current services.

Rivermine this week said there will be “minimal impact” on what its current customers can expect and that Rivermine’s personnel would experience no changes. Additionally, the company said Rivermine as a whole would remain as its own separate division within Emptoris and that Rivermine would retain its current CEO Mark Logan.

Rivermine also says its customers will benefit from gaining access to Emptoris’ wide array of products, including “spend analysis, contract management, supplier performance management and service procurement.”
