Technical and Systems Engineers

The Technical and Systems Engineer position is customer facing and will require a blend of both business and technical perspectives. Successful candidates should be able to communicate clearly and professionally, with an ability to balance business needs with technological capabilities.

Candidates must be fast learners, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment. They must be able to work effectively as part of a team involving both co-workers and client personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, troubleshoot and identify solutions to reproduce customer reported issues
  • Answering ‘how to’ technical and application configuration questions
  • Providing 2nd level support to Frontline Support staff on technical issues
  • Manage customer expectations and experience in a way that results in high customer satisfaction
  • Working closely with the Operations team on deployment and patch management
  • Work with other business units, including the Integration team, Operations, and Customer Success/Care, as required ensuring strong customer satisfaction
  • Create and contribute to the development of knowledge articles in the knowledgebase for the use by customers

Requirements:

  • Must be a fast learner, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Ability to read database tables, and log files thus enabling effective troubleshooting and fast resolution of customer issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to clearly articulate solutions to complex technical problems
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working directly with external customers in a technical support environment for an enterprise software or SAAS company
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • Experience using CRM and/or helpdesk call tracking and issue tracking tools
  • Technical background in Linux, Unix and other OS’s is a plus
  • Experience with Single Sign On integrations using SAML is preferred
  • Experience with database platforms such as SQL Server; including being fluent in the SQL language through daily use of the language to solve business challenges
  • Understanding of Web servers, Application servers and the Microsoft Office suite (Access, Excel, Word & PowerPoint) is preferred
  • Exposure to software development life cycle, project management tools (e.g. Microsoft Project) and/or the supply chain management or procurement domain would be a plus
